EIGHTRUPP LTD

The confluence of art and science, the integration of mathematics and aesthetics, and the form with function, Eightrupp Ltd is a company that creates furniture and cabinetry with inherent beauty made of natural materials.  With an eye for proportion, perspective and symmetry, the aesthetics of the whole is complemented by the small details in the joinery, hardware and molding in each project. The draw pin mortise and tenons in a cabinet door, the dovetail joints in the drawer boxes, the locking wedge tenons in a lattice frame or stretcher of a chair, the interlocking tenons of a bed frame and leg joint are examples of joinery that is strong and functional, and yet pleasing to the eye in its aesthetics and purpose.  The strength of simplicity is vital to the pleasing aesthetic of each piece, and this inherent beauty is complemented by the synergistic details.

Hughes House Collection

A collection of colonial furniture, hand crafted from solid hardwood, employing traditional design, construction and joinery, meant to spark owner satisfaction and pride in the simple beauty and function for generations.  The Shaker’s ability to achieve function and form from the efficient use of the bare elements of furniture design has made their designs timeless.  The Hughs House collection embraces this efficiency of design, in the reproduction of select pieces from Jacobean Hadley Chests to Shaker cupboards, chests, tables and beds.

Bel Faro Collection

A classic understated design transcending the Shaker’s timeless design to a modern understated look with clean lines and minimal ornamentation. Again function follows form in clean uncluttered lines with the juxtaposition of metal, stone and wood creating a pleasing form in contrasting materials.  These pieces are as much art as they are functional furniture to be enjoyed for generations.

Gunpowder Collection
